Fly Tying Lesson – How To Tie The Flaming Lamborghini Fly by James Christmas
.
Welcome back to The Fly Tying Station! In this week’s episode, our very own fly tying master, James Christmas, will give us a step-by-step tutorial on how to tie the Flaming Lamborghini fly. This fly was originally developed by James eight years ago and has since been a favourite in our fly boxes!
The Flaming Lamborghini fly is a large streamer with good, natural movement. Due to its striking red colour, it is an exceptional fly pattern when targeting predators such as the ferocious giant trevally.
The fly was designed to represent the various red-coloured baitfish you find in and around the coral in the Outer Islands of the Seychelles. The bright red colour of the fly is known to attract various predators on the flats from miles away.
This fly is ideal for using on the flats and reefs. In addition to the GT’s it was designed for, this is an excellent fly to target grouper, snapper, barracuda, and even sharks.
We highly recommend that you fill your fly box with more than one of these beauties, as you will be needing them when taking on multiple sought-after species on the flats. But don’t stop there: we have other great fly tying tutorials to ensure your fly box is filled up and ready for the fly fishing experience of a lifetime!
