COSMOLEDO ATOLL FLY FISHING REPORT (15 – 22 DEC 2022)

    23 December 2022

    COSMOLEDO FISHING NEWS | 15 – 22 DECEMBER 2022

The week was set on neap tides with minimal water movement for most of the time, ideal for targeting big GTs inside the lagoon and this is exactly what was done. It was a special week on Cosmo with three GTs coming in at well over the meter mark.

Drew Pirie was in the fishing God’s good books and had an amazing week and will go down in the books of firsts on Cosmo. He started off the week catching his first giant trevally ever and quickly progressed from there catching an absolute monster GT measuring 135 cm, a fish of a lifetime in anyone’s books. Drew went out the very next day and did it all again catching a 133 cm geet. An unbelievable achievement, from zero to two very memorable catches, he undoubtedly earned his GT badge!

John, Drew’s father, was also on top form, joining his son in catching his first giant trevally ever and tipping the tally scales by managing to catch a total of 13 for the week. An excellent first week of GT fishing.

Bob Skinstad, a long-time Alphonse Fishing Company client, showed us his skills by catching 11 GTs for the week. One was well over the meter mark coming in at 122 cm, a well-deserved catch and an amazing fish.

Matt Ferrey having spent the previous week with us was in good touch and managed seven GTs for the week. He made sure he left with a bang, catching a beautiful moustache triggerfish on the last day. Epic way to end a long trip!

Stay tuned for the next report from Cosmo!

    Tight lines,
