    ALPHONSE ISLAND REPORT (15-22 JANUARY)

    22 January 2022

ALPHONSE ISLAND FISHING NEWS | 15-22 JANUARY 2022

We started off the week with superb fishing conditions, as the week progressed conditions got a bit tougher with rough seas closing off the week. This made for a very interesting week, with angler’s experiences multiple different challenge and even though the conditions were adverse at some stages there we still some great catches that were made.

Andrew had an awesome week of fishing landing eight GTs in total and leading behind him was Tim, who also had a notable week catching four GTs. Greg managed to land himself three GTs and the biggest of the week measuring a total of 97 cm and last but not least Ron landed two GTs.

On top of the GT tally, Tim added to his fantastic week of fishing by landing his first milkfish, the same goes for David. What many people don’t know is the techniques for catching milkfish on fly were pioneered right here around Alphonse. So, if landing a milkfish is on your fly fishing bucket list, we have all the knowledge and experience to make that happen!

Andrew and Simon managed to land 20+ bonefish throughout the course of the week. Although Tim had to cut his time on the flats short, he jumped onto the bluewater boat and managed to catch his first wahoo on fly!

    Tight Lines,
