FARQUHAR ATOLL FISHING NEWS | 15 – 22 MARCH 2023
The week welcomed 10 anglers and some incredible weather. We were blessed with fantastic tides and were able to enjoy a neap tide at the beginning of the week which transitioned into a full spring tide.
The first day set the tone and we were off to a fantastic start for all. Patsy Daughters landed the first Napoleon wrasse of the week. Pete Scott and Doug managed to land their first GTs on fly. Jay Schuler landed his first bonefish ever. Chris Daughters started his week off with a very rare and special catch, Chris managed to land the third saddleback grouper of the season on Farquhar measuring 83 cm.
The following day also held loads of action, Jay, Reed Westpahl and Patsy all landing their first GTs ever. Cash Daughters landed a massive 110 cm bumphead parrotfish and Chris got it done with a massive 55 cm yellowmargin triggerfish and a 60 cm Napo.
Midweek, Doug and Reed managed to land their first bumpies on fly for the week. Mark landed his first GT on fly. Shauna Daughters landed a nice GT followed up by Cash one-upping her with two GTs and Pasty landed the biggest GT of the week measuring a whopping 115 cm! Chris cleaned up with a Slam consisting of a bumpy, GT and a bone, just in time for rods up. Peter managed to land his first bumpy and Cash landed a nice 85 cm GT.
Towards the end of the week, Shauna and Doug landed some decent GTs. Bill Casazza landed his first GT on fly. Cash landed a nice yellowmargin triggerfish and Pete landed the second biggest GT of the week measuring a massive 113 cm.
The week ended with a bang. Bill, Mark, Chris and Doug all landed GTs. Patsy ended her week off with a beautiful 53 cm moustache triggerfish.
