    COSMOLEDO ATOLL FISHING NEWS | WEEK 12 | 01 APRIL – 08 APRIL 2021

The season for Cosmo is nearing an end with four weeks to go and as always the SE monsoon is approaching fast. Wind, clouds and rain were predicted to hound us all week. Chantal on her third week was happy to not fight the weather and fish for bonefish while the weather was making it difficult to look for GT and triggerfish. Chantal did however manage to end her week with another large moustache triggerfish of 48 cm.

The six new guests for the week pushed through the week and managed some incredible fish. After a very tough first day, Klaus Van de Mag not only opened his account but managed a 103 cm GT. Continuing from where he left off he ticked another box the next day with a magical yellowmargin triggerfish. Kevin Benoit and Giacomo Calvi rolled through the week with a very positive outlook despite the weather and not only saw but also managed a good number of GTs to add to their personal tally.

Tom Hansen had a day of days in the middle of the week where he hooked and landed a huge GT. The fish were not only a personal best but the way the event happened will stay in his memories forever. In the shortest possible explanation the fish was seen and hooked on the edge of one of the island cliffs, it managed to get wrapped around coral on eight different occasions with the guide having to dive into the water and free the fly line. The GT was eventually landed and measured in at 123 cm, a story and a fish never to be forgotten.

The weather cleared up for the last two days of the week and the GT numbers seen went up with all of the guests catching a few each day.

    Tight lines,
