    PROVIDENCE ATOLL FLY FISHING REPORT | 02 MAR – 09 MAR 2025

As we entered the final week of the season, Providence once again showcased her true magic, delivering unforgettable moments for all the anglers who joined us: John Eames, Tarquin Millington Drake, Josef Kuncl, Arthur Stewart, and Nick Holtby.

John kicked off his trip with an incredible start, landing three impressive yellow margin triggerfish and a giant trevally (GT) on his first day. His luck continued as he went on to land the largest GT of the week, measuring a phenomenal 103 cm. The fight around the coral heads was truly epic and one he won’t forget. But John didn’t stop there—he also managed to land a bumphead parrotfish. Unfortunately, after a long and taxing fight, he lost a milkfish at the boat.

Tarquin had an exceptional week, landing several GTs along with eight triggerfish, two bumphead parrotfish, and a milkfish. He also achieved an impressive feat, completing three Flat Slams over the final three days of the trip: first a GT, triggerfish, and bonefish; then two GTs, triggerfish, and bumpy Slams on the last two days.

Josef and Nick had a solid week as well, landing multiple GTs and a few triggerfish. Nick was fortunate enough to land a bumphead parrotfish, while Josef’s bumpy managed to escape into deeper water and find some coral. However, Josef did manage to hook and land a beautiful milkfish, which was a highlight of his week.

Arthur truly shone this week, landing numerous GTs and adding two triggerfish, two bumphead parrotfish, and a milkfish to his impressive tally. To top it all off, Arthur caught an incredible barracuda on what was essentially his first cast of the trip. Despite some windy conditions that made things a bit tricky at times, it was a fantastic week that was thoroughly enjoyed by all. A huge thank you to each of you for an unforgettable final week on Providence!
