    COSMOLEDO ATOLL FLY FISHING REPORT | 20 MAR – 27 MAR 2025

    COSMOLEDO ATOLL FLY FISHING REPORT | 20 MAR – 27 MAR 2025

This week on Cosmoledo was centered around the final neap tides for the month of March. These tides were generally slow-moving for the majority of the week, with the last two days of the week gradually starting to shift toward the spring tides. The weather throughout provided the anglers with favourable conditions as the week featured light winds, with the occasional cloud passing over.

Majority of the anglers who participated this week had previous experience fishing for giant trevally, but there was still one first-time GT captured by Lars-Erik Larsson, marking an exciting milestone for him. Lars-Erik also had the pleasure of landing his very first bonefish, making it a week of memorable achievements. Congratulations to Lars-Erik on both his inaugural Giant Trevally and Bonefish!

This week also saw two impressive triggerfish catches. The first was by Sam Carlisle, who landed a stunning yellow margin triggerfish measuring 45 cm. Congratulations to Sam on this remarkable catch! The second triggerfish was another yellow margin, caught by Virginia Goodyear. Virginia had been on the lookout for a large yellow margin for quite some time, and her perseverance paid off with a beautiful specimen measuring 49 cm. Well done, Virginia, on your exceptional triggerfish!

While the GT fishing seemed to be slower than usual, some of the anglers decided to shift their focus to Cosmoledos famous big bonefish. This decision paid off in a big way, bringing our total bonefish count for the week to an impressive 16—well above the average!

Thank you to all the anglers that joined us this week, although it was slower then usual a great time was had by all and we hope to see you again soon.
