    COSMOLEDO ATOLL FLY FISHING REPORT | 13 MAR – 20 MAR 2025

    COSMOLEDO ATOLL FLY FISHING REPORT | 13 MAR – 20 MAR 2025

Cosmoledo this week was primarily centred around the full moon spring tides of March, with ample opportunities for walking due to the significant tidal movements. These strong tides made for perfect conditions to explore the flats and hunt for fish in different areas.

The weather for the first four days was exceptional, with clear skies and no wind, offering ideal fishing conditions for the anglers. The last two days, however, brought a significant shift in the weather, with some rain and electrical storms overhead. This forced a reduction in fishing time, but it didn’t stop our anglers from continuing to make the most of their time on the water.

A number of anglers crossed off their bucket-list fish this week, with several first-time giant trevally captures. Those who stayed persistent and focused were rewarded for their efforts! Dru Borden, Johnathan Lindenberg, Darren Lister, Brett Murphy, Randy Gavilk, and Viacheslav Gundar all managed to land their very first giant trevally while on Cosmoledo. Huge congratulations to you all!

With all the surf walking that occurred this past week, it was no surprise that a few tricky triggerfish made an appearance! Five triggerfish were landed in total, with the moustache triggerfish emerging as the star species. Mike Wells, Jonathan Lindenberg, Conrad Lindenberg, Darren Lister, and Phil Faubert were the fortunate anglers who managed to get their hands on Cosmoledo’s elusive moustache triggerfish. Well done to each of you! Thank you to everyone for coming out this week, it was a pleasure having you all here. We truly hope to see each and every one of you again soon!
