COSMOLEDO ATOLL FISHING NEWS – 32 Giant Trevally From One Anglers
Cosmoledo Atoll Fishing News | 17th February – 24th February 2020
Week 14 saw the return of many guests that have visited Cosmoledo before! There were also some new faces who got to share and experience the magic that the Atoll has to offer.
Joanne Ribauldo, Kajsa Larrson, Kay Jones, Helmut Alexander, Robert Siorpaes, Vadim Titowetz, George Mabreger, Klaus Miller, Michal Egger, Walter Schiegl and Seychelles veteran Helmut Zaderer made up the angling contingent together with Sarah Langenfeld enjoying the wonderful scuba diving sites that surround the outer reefs of the Atoll.
There were many highlights throughout the week, for Walter, Michael, Robert, George and Klaus it was their first GT. George managed a GT of 100 cm and Klaus with a respectable 98 cm.
Kajsa landed a very impressive moustache triggerfish. Vadim landed a handful of GT’s, of which two measuring 102 cm and 104 cm, Kay Jones went head to head with a 101 cm GT. Helmut Zaderer managed to catch thirty-two a good number of GT’s of which, one measured 100 cm and the another 107 cm. He also landed a monster moustache triggerfish and the only milkfish of the week.
The fish of the trip could arguably have been his 77 cm bonefish which puts it at an unbelievable weight of 11 lbs. Helmut Alexander managed the only flats slam of the week, a bonefish, giant trevally and triggerfish in a day.
Sarah who enjoyed the week mostly under the water either diving or snorkelling saw some weird and wonderful creatures that inhabit the reef and coral heads. Her highlight was spotting a massive bull shark on one of her dives and an impressive lemon shark snorkelling in the lagoon.
