ALPHONSE ISLAND FLY FISHING REPORT (15 – 22 OCTOBER 2022)

    23 October 2022

    ALPHONSE ISLAND FISHING NEWS | 15 -22 OCTOBER 2022

A great week of fishing with 10 anglers descending onto the shores of Alphonse Island. Overall, the anglers enjoyed great weather, despite a few light rainy days. The south-easterly trade wind change direction at this time of year making for a very beautiful angling experience.

The bonefishing was as on point with 330 bones brought to hand over the week. The biggest of those measuring in at a decent 64 cm!

We were joined by first-time Seychelles angler Ben who had been fishing on Farquhar the week before. Ben decided to fish on Saturday and after a very stressful fight around many coral bommies, he managed to land a monstrous 123 cm giant trevally making this the biggest GT landed since the last festive season!

Ray Palmer, a long-time returning guest, managed to land two lovely moustache triggerfish on days two and four of the week. On day three Mervin Young celebrated his belated birthday, reeling himself in a nice gift in the form of a 79 cm GT.

Steve Baldwin managed to get things done on day 4 of the week. Honing in an awesome slam consisting of a 65 cm giant trevally, a 47 cm Indo-Pacific permit and a nice fat bonefish. Congratulations Steve!

All in all a spectacular week here on Alphonse with a very happy guests and a ton of great memories. Well done to all anglers, old and new, on some very special catches and an exceptional week. We will see you again soon! Stay tuned for next week’s catch report.

    Tight lines,
